The Director I Compliance is responsible for directing compliance/implementation initiatives

Primary duties with expert skill level and tasks with the most advanced complexity and broad/enterprise scale may include, but are not limited to:

  • Compare compliance performance to that of other organizations through benchmarking.

  • Directs and leads compliance programs with multiple layers, objectives, tasks, stakeholders, requirements; assesses and report on program/process effectiveness; creates policies, procedures, and tools needed to operate the daily function of the program;

  • Manage/oversee/influence resources impacting projects or programs from matrixed organizations under different leadership.

  • Develops and leads strategic compliance plans, and makes recommendations to leadership.

  • Performs quality oversight of departmental work products/output; plan, document, and communicate department work, noting accountable direct reports and deadlines.

  • Collaborates with management to set a strategic vision.

  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates the performance of direct reports.


Minimum Requirements

  • Requires a BA/BS and minimum of 8 years health care, regulatory, ethics, compliance or privacy experience, including minimum of 3 years management experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Ability to travel may be required.

    Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences

  • MS/MBA/JD or professional designation preferred.

  • Strong leadership/managerial skills and ability to motivate/coach other staff strongly preferred.

  • Experience as a compliance officer strongly desired.

  • Experience with health plan compliance, working within change management, creating & presenting effective PowerPoint & Excel presentations preferred.

  • PMP & Budget Mgt certifications preferred.

    Annual Salary Range*: $115,120 - $143,900

    Actual compensation may vary from posting based on geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.

    • The hourly or salary range is the range Anthem in good faith believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. The Company may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.
