The Project Director is responsible for all of the requirements for Sr. Project Manager plus demonstrates the ability to identify key people to bring about change and understands underlying cultural dynamics to develop a network of contacts and target specific people to achieve project goals and objectives. Possesses awareness of significant contributing factors to manage project change, demonstrates a solid understanding of the end to end business processes and the critical IT dependencies as well as knowledge of additional regions and Enterprise needs. This position is an individual contributor role, with no direct reports.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Manages projects across business units, regions or the enterprise
Influences at all levels within the organization, often setting strategy and direction
Coaches and mentors project team members
Mentors other project managers around project management methodology
Determines project scope; develops resource, risk, quality, cost, and scope management plans
Develops training plans; defines, recommends and secures contractual agreements for services and products
Coordinates requirements, schedules implementation and post-implement plans, and develops service-level agreements for vendor partners and global resources firms
Develops requirements documents; develops project approval matrix
Identifies project team training and tool needs
Defines quality gates for each project methodology phase; defines critical success factors; establishes and manages the project warranty period.
Project management background/experience
Hold active PMI (PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACI) or Agile Certifications (CSM, SA, etc.)
Advanced level- MS TEAMS knowledge
Experience with large PMO structures
Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively and simply– both verbally and in writing
Strong PowerPoint skills with the ability to present to all levels of the organization, including senior leadership
Expert organizational and project management skills; ability to organize and structure programs and projects for effective execution
Large, complex multiple system implementation program management experience
Expert experience with multiple delivery models including Agile SAFe, Waterfall, Hybrid
Business management or consulting experience
Ability to function effectively and diplomatically within a fast-paced environment
Masters in Project Management preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
Requires a BA/BS in a related field; Minimum of 9 years professional project management experience required during which at least 7 years are spent leading and directing large project tasks, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
