Health Program Representatives
As a Health Program Representative, you are responsible for providing initial contact between distinct Care Management programs and specific identified members. Working under direct supervision, you will handle inbound/outbound enrollment and engagement calls with eligible members to provide information regarding program features.
This position can be filled at Health Program Representative I or II level. The hiring manager will determine the level, based on the candidate’s experience and background.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Gathers and records appropriate member information in accordance with policies and procedures via telephone.
Encourages members to participate in the Care Management programs by providing information about the program, outlining program features/value and explaining available services.
Records call details and utilize call scripts as needed based on client requirements.
Directs member inquiries to appropriate clinical staff.
Initiates referrals and manages consults from clinicians for participants registered in Care Management.
Gathers information from hospitals, health plans, physicians, patients, vendors and other referral sources.
Contacts physician offices to obtain demographic information or related data as needed.
At Level II may also include:
Mentors less experienced Health Program Advocates.
Hours of operation for these teams vary within the overall time frame of 7 AM- 11 PM CST daily. Priority given to candidates with availability to work an 8.5 hour shift starting at 12 PM CST or later. Successful candidates will be assigned a set 8.5 hour shift (30 minute lunch and two paid 15 min breaks) within those overall hours of operation. Shift differentials are offered for shifts extending past 8 PM in your time zone. Please indicate preferences clearly throughout the screening process.
Successful candidates will be located within 120 miles of Anthem locations in Tampa, FL, Louisville, KY, Las Vegas, NV, Atlanta, GA, Indianapolis, IN, Denver, CO, St Louis, MO, or Virginia Beach, VA.
Level I Required:
High School diploma or the equivalent;
6 months experience in a telesales or customer service demonstrating ability to influence customers/ members;
Or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Level I Preferred:
Knowledge of company products, services and benefits preferred.
Level II Required:
High School diploma or the equivalent;
A minimum of 6 months experience in Level 1 role;
Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
Level II Preferred:
Demonstrated proficiency in Level 1 role.
Soft Skills (all levels):
Ability to follow defined policies and protocols
