Program Director - Pharmacy Supply Chain

Responsible for strategic development in retail, mail and specialty network solutions and services including, but not limited to, the planning and execution of pharmacy supply chain delivery, logistics and operations of business processes to create cost savings and strategic competitive advantage. Acts as key subject matter expert on pharmacy network strategy and is the key liaison with all internal and external clients and stakeholders on pharmacy provider topics to ensure the company achieves related business objectives. Establishes and maintains policies, standards and training.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Leads, develops and executes project plans to operationalize supply chain and inventory management, including reimbursement and outcome reporting

  • Manages select external relationships to expertly oversee our partners, vendors compliance with contractual terms and conditions

  • Develops and manages pharmacy provider and vendor relationships including paying pharmacies for cognitive and professional services

  • Leads, develops and executes initiatives to drive down the cost of care, improve the member experience, and grow our business through a competitive pharmacy network

  • Attends and actively participates in meetings with clients, pharmacies (retail, digital, mail and specialty), government affairs, regulatory teams, and pharmacy associations representing the company’s point of view on pharmacy network management and reimbursement for services

  • Supports sales, product and account management with network solutions and customer service, answering client questions about access, services, directories, pricing, credentialing and contracting of all pharmacy provider types.

  • Prepares reports and works on special projects.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Requires a BA/BS and minimum of 10 years’ experience in external client or stakeholder program management, project management; complex business processes, strategic and business planning; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • 3 or more years of PBM, pharmaceutical distribution or supply chain experience, and/o health care industry

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or other advanced degree

  • 5 or more years of experience in PBM pharmacy networking management and contracting, with an understanding of retail, mail and specialty pharmacy networking

  • Strong operational expertise in pharmacy supply chain management, pricing and contracting knowledge

  • Existing retail, mail, digital, and specialty pharmacy relationships

  • Ability to develop and implement policy, procedure and change management experience

  • Governance and Oversight development, launch and monitoring to ensure progress in an organized and efficient manner

  • Contract negotiation skills

  • Ability to manage ambiguity – create clarity around objectives, timelines, etc. when it may not exist

  • Ability to quickly become part of the team and engage on select projects.

  • Project management certification (PMP)
