LOCATION: This is a remote position located in the Eastern or Central time zone. You must reside within 2 hours of an Anthem office.

HOURS: Monday thru Friday, normal business hours -- local time.

This position will lead the execution of key components for Clinical Operations, Provider Service, and Network Operations. The Project Director will work with Clinical, Provider Service, and Network leaders as well as other business partners to enable business growth and high-performing organizational culture by identifying and implementing large initiatives that support Health Solutions and enterprise goals. Demonstrates the ability to identify key people to bring about change and understands underlying cultural dynamics to develop a network of contacts and target specific people to achieve project goals and objectives. Possesses awareness of significant contributing factors to manage project change, demonstrates a solid understanding of the end-to-end business processes and the critical technical dependencies as well as knowledge of additional regions and Enterprise needs.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages projects across business units, regions, or the enterprise.

  • Influences at all levels within the organization, often setting strategy and direction.

  • Coaches and mentors project team members.

  • Mentors other project managers around project management methodology.

  • Determines project scope.

  • Develops resource, risk, quality, cost, and scope management plans.

  • Develops training plans.

  • Defines, recommends and secures contractual agreements for services and products.

  • Coordinates requirements, schedules implementation and post-implement plans, and develops service-level. agreements for vendor partners and global resources firms.

  • Develops requirements documents.

  • Develops project approval matrix.

  • Identifies project team training and tool needs.

  • Defines quality gates for each project methodology phase.

  • Defines critical success factors.

  • Establishes and manages the project warranty period.

Qualifications

  • Requires a BA/BS in a related field; MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of 9 years professional project management experience required during which at least 7 years are spent leading and directing large project tasks, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

  • Experience in Clinical Operations, Network Operations, and/or Provider Services preferred.

  • Must have the ability to summarize and speak/present at an executive level.
