The Strategy Director is responsible for identifying, developing, planning and executing a strategy to leverage Business Intelligence with Artificial Intelligence in joining forces to empower data-driven decisions and move beyond the boundaries of traditional Business Intelligence transforming data-driven business decisions in driving operational improvements. Process improvement projects to strengthen the efficiency and effectiveness in the utilization of information to drive operational improvements. Primary duties to include, but are not limited to:

Strategic Initiatives

  • Partners with leadership, operational business intelligence, data science and operational areas to define our combined business intelligence \ artificial intelligence strategy and success criteria for the future

  • Translates strategy into defined tactics, programs\projects, priorities and timelines to ensure alignment and attainment of overall strategic direction

  • Creates and presents high quality presentations to executive levels

  • Serves as representative between operational business intelligence and data science to ensure complete alignment on strategic approach

  • Provide decision support through data gathering, information analyzing, and presenting considerations to relevant stakeholders

Project Management

  • Demonstrates leadership by owning and driving the project management and collaboration across teams to achieve desired results within specified budget and timeline

  • Manages multiple projects in varying sizes and duration

  • Applies project management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project deliverables

  • Facilitates and coordinates execution of deliverables between functional areas

  • Creates project management roadmaps that are prioritized based on business objectives and organizational feasibility

  • Ability to utilize a logic model approach in identifying inputs (data sources), activities (data connectivity, analyses), and outputs (what is it telling us?) to ultimately drive outcomes (what will occur as a direct result of the project?)

  • Communicate initiative status to leaders, pulling in other leaders or team members as necessary

  • Bring together multiple stakeholders and help drive decisions

Team Support Activities

  • Manages entire team project portfolio ensuring relative information is tracked to understand overall status, risk and value to the company

  • Serves as team lead with activities involving multiple functional areas within the company

  • Leads weekly team staff meetings ensuring relative agenda is meaningful and collaborative decisions are made in a timely manner

  • Prepares executive level presentations as needed

  • Leads internal and external team communications including all associate updates

  • Manages team business continuity plan


  • Requires a BS/BA degree in a related field; 10 years of strategic planning, project/program management, vendor management experience (preferred);

  • 3-5 years of leadership/management with business knowledge in multiple disciplines within a Healthcare organization; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Masters degree preferred.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus

  • Capacity for independent critical thinking and problem solving - preferred

  • Conceptual understanding of business intelligence, data science (artificial intelligence, machine learning) solutions and processes - preferred

  • Conceptual understanding of Microsoft business intelligence stack of tools – SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, ETL, RDBMS, PowerBI a plus

  • Demonstrated excellent written/oral communication skills, technical documentation skills, user liaison skills and personal interaction abilities - preferred

  • Excellent research and analytical skills - preferred

  • Strong planning and organizational skills - preferred
